Dear Phil, We just wanted to write to you and say a big thank you for a wonderful holiday-we enjoyed ourselves immensely! We have bored our friends talking about it non stop since we arrived home but so many things stand out that we felt we had to write and congratulate you and Tammy on such a beautiful place. The accommodation is lovely, with plenty of space for privacy. It was spotlessly clean and very typical of the area – just as we had imagined it. The tea, coffee and milk that was waiting for us on arrival was a very thoughtful touch after all our traveling. We really enjoyed the trips on the Ardeche and the Chassezac that you organized for us.The Ardeche descent was an experience but the Chassezac is beautiful. It was great to be able to hire equipment on site and your experience and local knowledge as a guide meant that we really felt like we knew what we were doing! Kevin's Mum and Dad enjoyed the peace that your gite offered and John was thrilled that there was so much fishing nearby. We hope to be back next year – the children are planning what they would like to do already and we have given your details to some friends who are interested. FAMILY AND CHILDREN'S SERVICES Dear Mary, Health and Safety Risk Assessment of the Canoe Descent of the Ardeche Gorge: Please find the results of my assessment carried out at the Ardeche Gorge 2nd-3rd August2006. Firstly, I must say how impressed I was with all the organisation and arrangements covering the whole of this trip.. The safety of the group was a priority at all times and every eventuality was covered in numerous safety briefs and control of the group was kept at all times. The campsite was excellent and very well organized and controlled by Phil Gasson the owner and his wife Tammy. The food provided was of an excellent quality and met all food hygiene requirements. The instructors/guides, Mike and Alan fulfilled their duties without fault, and with the owners wealth of experience in organizing trips and for groups of young people I have no reservation in recommending the use of Phil Gasson and Ardeche Adventures for future events. I should also mention how impressed I was by the dedication, enthusiasm and tireless energy of the Canal side staff, namely Mackon, Mo, “Ziggy” and Nicola, who led the inland canoe/Kayak expedition which was of the highest order. Cornway Family Superb safety, talented instructors and inspirational scenery all combined to make this the activity holiday of a lifetime- Emma aged 16 ¾ When my teenage children coerced me into an activity holiday, canoeing down the Ardeche, it must be said that my reaction to my husband was, "That is my idea of hell." As a confirmed wimp, neurotic mother and altogether non-outdoorsy type, I was dreading this little adventure. However, due to the excellent tuition, unparalleled safety, good company and wonderful scenery, believe it or not, I'm queuing up to do it all again! A wonderful experience! - Maria aged 46. It was really fun with great scenery and quality instructing. – Finian The campsite is in an idyllic area, authentically French, and the standards of safety and tuition for the children and us were excellent. As the borough's technical expert for water sports I was impressed with the safety arrangements whilst on the river. Your staff were knowledgeable and able to reassure me that all safety aspects were considered before proceeding on any of the stages of the descent of the Ardeche Gorge. As an employee of the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea and a canoe instructor for 30 years I would like to say your operation was of the standard I would expect from a company delivering adventurous activities for young people. Youth on H20 Water sports Club Dear Phil Just a quick note to say thanks for all your help and hard work over the weekend of the 22nd International Marathon de Gorges des Ardeche. The whole crew were impressed by the accommodation, the quantity and quality of the food and support provided by yourself and your family during the event. The evenings we spent getting ready for the event and recovering from it were great – coming home to a real fire after we'd sunk and had to swim for it was lovely. We are already planning another trip for two boats next year, so we will have double the number of paddlers - we hope that you will be able to fit us in! Yours sincerely |
